overdue
my obsessions for the past week:
1.
this cute little bow-brazened bageroo is on sale at urbanoutfitters.com for $29.99, and it's calling my [very, very broke] name. luckily my bank account and my vegetarian/animal rights morals are telling me to just say no to this little bundle of leathery goodness.
did i mention it has a bow?
2.
i'm dreaming of cooler weather constantly...and this double-breasted cardigan from aa is putting me over the edge. i love the paprika/sand button combo online!
3.
this is a hair idea i pulled from modern bride...but i love the look of a hot mess pony. maybe by some miracle i can force my hair into this style once my hair gets long enough.
4.
cornichons. these babies are ah-may-zing. basically they're little french super-sour pickles. the brand i buy crams them in all the way to the top so there's never a pickle juice surplus [much to the dismay of my roommate who loves to drink the juice - blech!].
5.
i pounce on postsecret every sunday morning, and i'm always wishing and hoping there might be a surprise posting during the week. fortunately the archives are always interesting to look at!
hope you're having a great week!
xx,
sarah

ink on the brain
i've been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo for a few years now, and since i'm rock-bottom broke at the moment it's perfect timing for brainstorming.
i'm hardly ever spontaneous when it comes to big decisions [except for getting my nose pierced for my birthday last year], so i have a few ideas in mind.
eventually i want to have two, or possibly one combined, tattoo to symbolize my parents.
mom ideas: heart [cliche, but then again her birthday is on valentine's day so i've been buying her heart-themed gifts for years], hummingbird [her favorite bird], or a flower of some sort [i'm a sucker for those traditional rose tattoos when they look classy and the coloring is done right].
my dad is much harder to symbolize.
so far my only idea is to get an ant [my dad got his doctorate in bug science and he and his best friend have a thing for digging around in ant piles].
perhaps i could tie it all together somehow? an ant crawling on a rose...and then a completely separate heart somewhere else?
location-wise i'm thinking ribs on my right side, right hip, wrist, or on my left side a bit down from my collarbone.
the size would probably be moderate [medium?] to small.
any suggestions would be appreciated!
here are some photos via flickr that brought out some inspiration:
i love the simplicity and the key motif.
1. she's gorgeous.
2. the placement is perfect.
i like how the designs are outline-y.
i'm not very into skulls, but this tattoo is cute and a great size.
i like the design of these roses, but i would want to bring out more yellow and make the edges softer.
any thoughts?

sarah

lucy, i'm home
wedding fever
with everyone and their mother getting engaged or married around me, i've started to get wedding bells on the brain.
don't worry. i'm fully aware that i'm "only nineteen" and yaddayaddayadda.
no rings, gowns, or babies here.
but here are my favorite "dream" wedding gowns [and they might not cost an arm and a leg by the time i get hitched!]:
1.
monique lhuillier, durkaDUR.
2.
monique again.
3.
lusan mandongus.
4.
oh, vera. you never cease to amaze me.
5.
yeahyeahyeah. i know it's technically not a wedding dress.
but LOOK AT IT.
[zac-y poo, pleasepleaseplease make this floor-length for me?]
