Extra, extra!
One of my best friends (and endeared hair lady/stylist/person) just opened an Etsy store.

Check out some of her killer art pieces (and buy them!):

[Neutral Milk Hotel, anyone?]

2. Greetings from the Fourth Dimension

3. To Balance the Power

You can view more here!

p.s. Fun fact: her parents wanted a boy, so they named her Kevyn Ryan! Kiiiiinda awesome.

LOOK!:

Do you see that?
Do you see who who that is?
In the bottom right corner of the photo above, that's the lovely Danielle of deedoubleyou being featured in today's group of Etsy's Handpicked Items!

It's about time her hella awesome knotted headbands (as well as neckpieces and buttons) got recognized!

Congrats, lady!

designed for good

While at Harvest of Hope Fest in St. Augustine a few weeks ago, I bought a shirt from an organization called Rosa Loves.

RL raises money for a variety of different causes through selling awesome shirts.  They say, "Each story will be told through stimulating graphics and actual text that will appear on the inverse of the shirt directly in line with the heart, where the Rosa Loves movement stems from.  Rosa Loves is less about charity and more about awareness, awareness that we are all apart of something greater and are therefore joined by common threads."

Need a creative gift idea for your bestie's birthday?
Rosa Loves has got you covered (literally).
Look good AND feel good!

The above design is called "Ms. Pearl," and the proceeds from its sale pay for supplies and labor needed to repair and sustain the Musicians' Bunkhouse in New Orleans.

I hope Miles isn't reading this post because "Ms. Pearl" is his birthday present!

For more information on Rosa Loves (yes, they offer internships!), look here.

the monster mash

PLEASE tell me I'm not the last person to hear about this?!

A movie version of Maurice Sendak's WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE?!?

Ok, sorry.  I'm still in love-struck shock.

It's being directed by Spike Jonze, and it was written by Dave Eggers.
Awesome?  Check.

Some of the stars include Forest Whitaker (who was in my dream last night? WHAT?), Paul Dano, Catherine Keener, Catherine O'Hara, and James Gandolfini.
Hella awesome?  Check.

And it comes out in October.

Um, I quite possibly might where a Max costume, crown and all.

...can you tell I'm excited?

intermission

This just in:

Demetri Martin wrote a 224-word palindrome.
Check it!:

"Dammit I’m Mad" by Demetri Martin

Dammit I’m mad.
Evil is a deed as I live.
God, am I reviled? I rise, my bed on a sun, I melt.
To be not one man emanating is sad. I piss.
Alas, it is so late. Who stops to help?
Man, it is hot. I’m in it. I tell.
I am not a devil. I level “Mad Dog”.
Ah, say burning is, as a deified gulp,
In my halo of a mired rum tin.
I erase many men. Oh, to be man, a sin.
Is evil in a clam? In a trap?
No. It is open. On it I was stuck.
Rats peed on hope. Elsewhere dips a web.
Be still if I fill its ebb.
Ew, a spider… eh?
We sleep. Oh no!
Deep, stark cuts saw it in one position.
Part animal, can I live? Sin is a name.
Both, one… my names are in it.
Murder? I’m a fool.
A hymn I plug, deified as a sign in ruby ash,
A Goddam level I lived at.
On mail let it in. I’m it.
Oh, sit in ample hot spots. Oh wet!
A loss it is alas (sip). I’d assign it a name.
Name not one bottle minus an ode by me:
“Sir, I deliver. I’m a dog”
Evil is a deed as I live.
Dammit I’m mad.

...kiiiind of awesome, don't ya think?

Yes.
She did.

In case you haven't heard, Rachel Zoe has now trademarked "bananas" and "I die."

And the awesome Christopher Sauve tees aren't heading out anytime soon after a "cease and desist" letter was delivered to Christopher's door.

But he is going to make new tees! Check it!
